Everyone in the sports world knows that when March starts to roll along, it can only mean one thing: March Madness is here! One of the most exciting times of the year for college sports comes along every spring and brings excitement and a lot of disappointment to basketball fans around the country.

As the college basketball regular season comes to an end, fans are at the edge of their seats waiting for the March Madness brackets to get released. People are getting ready for friendly pools and other online pools by doing endless amounts of research on teams and matchups to see what team has a shot of winning each round. Everyone’s main goal is to get that perfect bracket, something that no one has ever done before.

In 2015, Warren Buffet, one of the world’s richest human beings, placed a friendly wager on the perfect bracket. He announced to the public that if anyone got the whole NCAA playoff bracket completely correct, he would give him or her an astounding $1 billion in return. That is how rare the perfect bracket is when it comes to March Madness.

In 2016, it only took 26 games for the perfect bracket to be busted. In the game that busted it, 14-seed Stephen F. Austin upset number 3-seed West Virginia. I do not think many people saw this upset coming after seeing the season West Virginia had going: 26-8 on the season and coming in second in the big 12 conference. But, that is what March Madness is all about, hence the name “madness.” Every year there are unbelievable upsets that shock the nation. Every year there are Cinderella teams that make a run through their region and shock college basketball. That is why we love March Madness.  You never know what you are going to get.

As March Madness is taking the sports world by storm, we are down to 16 teams in 2016. So far it has been nothing but great entertainment. It should be exciting to see who reaches the final four and wins the national championship.
