It didn’t take long for the Spartans to respond. In the sixth inning after a Juan Adorno got to third on a wild pitch, right fielder Giovanni Dingcong drove him in with an RBI single to break the tie. Later in the inning, junior Greg Dawber doubled to the right center gap to bring home Dingcong to make it 3-1. Dingcong was at it again in the seventh; he drive home John DeAngelis with a sac fly to center.
