Looking for Ways to Better Your STAC Experince?

By Isabella Szklany

Are you bored sitting in your dorm room or do you wish that you felt more part of the school? Well, there is a simple solution: go out and get involved! There are a ton of clubs at the school and many new ones as well! Getting involved is not only a great way to take some ownership of the school but a great way to meet new people and to learn new skills as well.

Do you want to learn how to knit? Well, join Knitting Club and knit a scarf for the homeless in New York City. What about giving a tour to prospective students? Well, become a Student Ambassador and share your STAC experience with others. Although these are only two extracurriculars on campus, there are many more that you can find on the school’s website.

Getting involved on campus is the best way to take advantage of everything that the school has to offer and to make the most of your college experience. Do not let these years fly by, because you will regret it if you spend your time watching from the sidelines. Try something new and see if you like it, there is nothing to lose. I urge you to try out for the play, to play Club Volleyball or Baseball, join Art Therapy Club or even write for the Thoma. You will never know what will happen if you do not try and experience something new.

The experiences that you have in college will shape who you will become as an adult. So do not let these four years go to waste and take advantage of every opportunity possible. Enjoy college while it lasts and make the most of it!
