A dying rose – a poem

Thomas Nolan, Writer

You were the most beautiful rose in my garden.

You did not bear the strength in color of the bright crimson shade, and your petals pointed back towards the earth which gave you life.

But I saw you through your triumph stand up and show the world you wouldn’t be defeated. You couldn’t be drowned with the heavy spring rains…even when life was too heavy to hold.

Then one day I came to you, and you had wilted away…and even though you weren’t there, I’d still think about you every day.
