The Communication Arts Program is once again demonstrating how hands-on their courses are! CA 322, Public Relations and Event Planning, a Communication Arts course is open to all majors and offers a semester long experiential learning project, culminating in a public relations event.

The thirteen students in the class are responsible for conceptualizing, theming, planning, executing, and hosting a public relations event for the entire Communication Arts Program.

This hands-on, fully immersive experience throws students into a learning experience in which they are serving as PR event planners. This allows for students to get the most out of the course, while building marketable skills and bolstering their resume.

This semester the class is putting on event called ‘What’s Poppin With CA?’ on March 7th from 1:30-4:00 in the Romano Center. The event is ‘poppin’ theme, with free ‘poppin’ snacks, such as popcorn, pop tarts, cake pops, ring pops, pop rocks, and soda pop!

The event will showcase the awesome courses that the Communication Arts program offers, such as film/television production, video editing, on-air broadcasting, social media marketing, and public relations.

There will be several free raffles with Uber, DoorDash, Dunkin, Pisano’s Pizza gift cards, and more!

This will be an incredibly fun event for all students, promoting the Communication Arts program to undecided students or students looking to add a minor.

Adding a major or minor in Communication Arts is beneficial for all students; no matter what career you are dreaming of, you will need to communicate with others to advance yourself, and you can learn these crucial skills right here on campus!
