Sparkill, NY- October 3rd, 2015 — Double header at Spartan Field; both Men and Women’s soccer teams played Queens College. Women were first to play.

The cold, windy day did not affect the Lady Spartans as they took an early lead in the game. Lindsey Sansone put the Spartans on top twelve minutes into the game.

They carried that momentum into the second half. A bad penalty by Queens led to a penalty kick goal scored by Alyssa Rosania, and Sansone added another one on a nice feed from Annalise Warren to put the Spartans up 3-0. Three goals were more than enough for goalkeeper Courtney Dumain as she posted a six-save shutout. 3-0 was the final score.

The game did not go so well for the Men’s team as they suffered an early deficit. Andras Breuer put Queens up two minutes into the game. It was 3-0 Queens going into the second half.

An early goal by Ivan Gomez gave STAC a little bit of life but a fourth goal by Queens would secure the deal. The Men’s fell to Queens, 4-1.
The Women’s team we be on the road the next three games, going to Georgian Court on the 5th, and the Men’s team will hit the road for the next four, battling the University of the District of Columbia of the 7th.
