The Men’s soccer team traveled to Long Island to take on the Molloy College Lions.

It was Molloy’s homecoming at Skelos Field in Rockville Center and the fans were full of energy and strangely, dressed up in costumes for this big game. There were fans dressed as nerds, robbers, animals and even emojis in attendance for this game. Unfortunately for theSpartans, those fans went home happy as the lions won the game, 3-2. Mosiah Whyte was story of this game. He scored the first two goals of the game; the first under ten minutes into the game and the second with twelve minutes left in the first half. With fourteen seconds to go, the Spartans put one on the board and the goal scored was Chris Estevez. This quieted the stands and shifted the momentum to the Spartan’s side. Both teams came out onto the field hard. Some early great defensive plays and great saves by the goalkeepers kept the score at 2-1.

With twenty minutes to go, Lucas Munoz added another tally for the Lions to make it 3-1. Right when you think the Spartans were out of it, Ivan Gomez assists Luis Morales for a Spartan goal to put the deficit back at one. A lot of pressure was applied by the Spartans but they couldn’t get one more past the Lion’s defense and their keeper, Stephen Tapetto. Final score: 3-2 Molloy.
